God's Order in the Church: The Messengers--Titus 1:1-4

In this web page God's order in the Church--The messengers has been considered.  You have in your local assembly, God’s elect leader, your pastor.  You need to pray for him in his relation to God.  You need to pray for him in his relation to God's people--you.  You need to pray for him in his relation to God's Word.
He doubtlessly regularly presents, even as was done on this web page, God's eternal life.  It is the Hope--do you have this hope?  It is the Truth--have you accepted the truth?  It is the preached Word--that word has been preached; have you really heard it?  It is the Command of God--have you obeyed it?
The message is to God's earnest Lieutenant.  Though this may refer to elders and/or deacons, as one of  God's people, you are such a lieutenant; are you earnest?  Have you received God's provision for you?
This section may well be concluded --"Thus, as through the entire letter, official authority in the church is declared to have as its purpose the preservation and proclamation of  the revealed truth contained in the gospel, and, further, 'sound doctrine' is ever intended to secure holy living; its supreme purpose is the promotion of  Godliness." (Erdman, 139)
